一般黑五的折扣会有两波，第一波就是黑五前几天和黑五当天的折扣，这一波折扣也是各大商家推出的下半年最猛折扣之一了；第二波则是这个周五后的下一个周一，很多商家为了自身的折扣竞争力，会选择在这个周一延长或者是稍许改变黑五的折扣，名字换了但实质上就是延长打折时间，这第二波通常被称为Cyber Monday“网络星期一”。
其实圣诞大促从黑五开始就有了点苗头，但是准确来说，正式周期应该是12月初直到次年1月中或1月底。持续时间也算是比较长，但是力度大的集中在Boxing Day节礼日促销，后续的折扣相对没有Boxing Day的好，而且基本上折扣季越长，考验的就是咱们的手速了，不管是鞋子的鞋码还是美妆护肤的色号款式，在折扣季期间都是先到先得，抢不到的就只能等补货或者下次打折了……
传统的Boxing Day大家都会去商场门口早早排起长龙，商场也会比平时提早很多开门，比如往年Westfield Stratford有时会早上7点就开门，外面的大批“剁手党”也会大排长龙，只等时间一到涌入商场开始血拼。不过需要提醒大家，在这种促销日去实体店购物一定要好好排队，切勿因小失大，发生踩踏事件哦！
